They should be able to hit 130s in a good box. Everyday SPL and SQ requires a sub with high linear excursion. SQ/SPL boxes such as sealed and ported allow more excursion than competition style bandpass boxes and such, and for a musical experience, you'll need relatively long excursion to produce SPLs that are respectable over a wide frequency range. Competition SPL is different because it relies on a sub's power at the tuned frequency of the port in the enclosure used, typically in the 60s and 70s. Competition SPL requires subs with powerful motors and gobs of power applied, and the subs still rarely see anything near full excursion at that frequency.
