I ran WinISD on a few subs using this typ of box design and the graphs show me the kind of bass that i like. Deep, low, and powerful. |
Anonymous | The more complicated the box, the easier it is to make it sound horrible. A bandpass box is generally known for being poorly done, and only good in narrow range of frequencies. Basically, a bass bumping box. I'm not saying it can be done well, and fitted into a great system, just that it's usually not. Sealed or a low tuned ported box can you give the deep and low with a much simpler design and overall better SQ. |

You won't see manufacturers recommend them because they're so hard to build. If they're just a hair off, you risk blowing the cones straight out of the subs. That's not exaggeration, either. |
