Onkyo HT Receiver (5.1) Pioneer Stereo Receiver (50 Watts per channel, 6-16 ohm load per channel.)
Questions: Can I connect Onkyo Sub pre-out to a y-splitter to Pioneer inputs. Pioneer outputs R to one voice coil and L to the other voice coil of a 10" car sub. Will this work? Is it (100 watts) way too little power for a 10" sub?
Also, does anyone know of decent DVC 6-ohm (or 8 ohm, I'm not that picky) subs?
So far I've only found a couple . . .

you can wire any sub that is DVC with each coil having a 4 ohm load to 8 ohms at the amp...that is more common than gettin' a 6 ohm load, unless you are doing a odd number of subs (usu. 3)

Of course, If I am hooking up a dual 4 ohm sub in series to one side of my recevier, then I only have one side (and only 50 watts). Whereas, if I could hook up both left and right channels on my recevier to one sub (I don't know if I can do this), I could (theoretically) have 100 watts . . .

I assume I posted in the wrong forum (or the question is so obscure no one knows) . . . Could anyone kindly direct me to the proper forum?
