ULM_2004 Unregistered guest | hi glass, i am looking at getting a JBL BP600.1 on Ikesound.com and I know it is a mono amp, but why does it have 2 sets of pos. and neg. speaker terminals??? It looks like this.....(+)(-)(+)(-)....(pwr)(rem)(grd) It looks like a 2 channel amp!!!!! Is this just to wire it w/ larger wire or something??? And why does it have 2 sets of RCA inputs??? help me out here man.... |

A trick to the JBL amps, i sto use Y-splitters at the RCA inputs so all four inputs get signal. This improves the performance of the amplifier for some reason. as for the speaker terminals, the amp is designed to make wiring two subwoofers to the amp easier, by offering dual speaker terminals. If you connect one sub to each pair of terminals, you'll have two subs in parallel connected to the amplifier. if you go to www.jbl.com you can also download the amplifier's manual in PDF format to read more about these features. |

Gold Member Username: GlasswolfPost Number: 1082 Registered: 12-2003 | matt, you won't get a two Ohm load from a single 4 Ohm sub on a mono amplifier. the amp can't be bridged. It's only got ONE channel. If you want 600 watts from a BP600.1 with a single sub, you buy a 2 Ohm sub. period. |

Gold Member Username: GlasswolfPost Number: 1089 Registered: 12-2003 | the BP600.1 is a one channel amp. the two sets of terminals are just for parallel wiring two subs to the one channel |
