I don't know if this would work or not, but I herd somone say they used a lighter to melt the rubber back to geather. Like I said don't know if it really work's.
Im the one who said that that melting the rubber back together would work. It doesnt melt back togeher completely, but it gets the edges closer together then you super glue it. It may work for some poeple and it may not but I did it and you can barely tell a hole was there. And it may also depend on how crafty are with your hands.
i cant believe i'm still reading this nonsense. FINGERNAIL POLISH is hard, also is NOT flexible. how can you guys really think this is good advice? use 100% silicone, and sparingly apply it over the tear. leave it out of the box during the repair and for the duration of the drying time. use common sense guys,
coat a piece of cloth with fingernail polish. now, coat a different piece of cloth with silicone. let them dry now.....pick them up and compare the two. which one is flexible?
yea zak is right nail polish is hard and will distort sound and melting it will make it an even bigger hole either that or burn the damn surround silicone caulk works i have done the exact same thing and i have used caulk and it works fine u use nail polish on a punture in the actual cone of the sub but if u have aluminum cones like me all u have to worry about is scratching the paint and denting the cone but yea caulking works very well
