Lincoln OEM Sony 10 CD Changer - Repair or Replace?

POS Sony 10 CD changer (OEM w/premimum JBL system on '98 Lincoln Mark VIII) - goes 'offline' whenever i hit even small bump.dash indicator switches from showing disk # & track# to "No". I can reset only by eject'g & reinserting CD magazine (uncool 'cause it's in the trunk). Is this easy to fix?? What CD changers will work with existing wiring and head unit...i want a good one (NOT Sony). I use a lens cleaning CD w/speakers test and brushes (no help w/this prob).
I understand this is a typical problem with these Lincoln OEM Sony POS's.
not 100% sure on this but basiclaly a cd changer is plugged into the back of your headunit, i'm pretty sure that a new one would plug into the back as well, go to an audio store and ask them, they'd be able to help you better, dont have too much experience in CD changers
