I just installed a new head unit into my car and the memory will only stay for a short period of time. sometimes it will hold for a few hours, sometimes much less. i'll get into my car and start it, clock is at 12:00 and my eq settings are back to zero. i know that everything is wired correctly. is this a problem with the unit or a short in the wire? i've never heard of this. either the memory works or doesn't never in between
That wouldn't have anything to do with your remote. There would be a problem with your remote wire if your HU didn't ever turn on or didn't ever turn off. More likely the former. Anyway, the memory going out means that you probably did a bad job on the power or ground. Your HU resets when you stop supplying power to the HU.
