Bass driver?

If my amp doesn't have a remote bass control, would it be a good investment to purchase a bass driver?
would it act like a bass remote?

the only thing that would really act as a bass level control like you want is a pre-amp with a bass frequency EQ setting, an EQ, or a remote attenuation circuit if you can find or build one that attenuates the RCA line level signal at the amplifer's input stage.

exactly.
it's an attenuator that goes inline with the amp.
I just didn't have any specific links to one.
thanks for the footwork.

how would i go about hooking this attenuator up to my amp. Do i have to plug anything into the head unit?

head unit -> RCA cables -> sub level controller -> RCA cables -> sub amplifier

all i get is some low bass noise when the hu is off. with the hu on the sub has bass but its very weak. the sub is barely hittin. i even turned the gain up on the amp and nothing.
