Hey Sandeep, I'd go with 9835. Always test drive the unit before buying.

I have the 9835 and it looks great and sounds great but I cannot believe that there isn't any way to adjust the treble and the bass. That really sucks. It does have the nice ipersonalize thing from Alpine which allows you to set up the EQ among other things but some things are missing here. I am almost thinking of getting rid of it but I like the ipod option and Eclipse doesnt have that. What are the pro's and cons of Eclipse vs Alpine?

Eric,

The 9835 has more adjustments then you can poke 20 sticks at - build an EQ curve to suite your needs. I always thought that the simplistic implimentation of having "bass" and "treble" sort of sucked :-) clearly not everyone is with me on this one, oh well.

Hey my HU has built in EQ instead of the simple bass and treble knobs. If used properly, it's at least 2x better. You can control the sound curves to suit your needs. Boy my opinion sounds so much like Moorey's! Honest, I didn't copy his answers :-)

9835 is a 9833 with a fancy screen.
if you got the extra 50 bucks or whatever, get the 9835.
Theres about a million ways to adjust the bass
and treble on that thing BTW..
plus fantastic build quality.
I used to have a 9835, but I sold it and got a
Eclipse 5454 instead.
you wont regret buying a 9833/35...Ill tell you
that much.

:-) lol that cracked me up, Isaac.

Sandeep, mate as you may have gathered from the responses here we think that those generalised (spelling?) controls suck - build a few EQ curves for the thing and store them, you can select your choice of EQ on the fly with the remote, SWEET!

Cheers Glenn

Help2,

I'm very curious as to why you switched over to the Eclipse 5454. Are you happy with the change? Why?
