I got a JL 12W7, a JL 500/1 amp, a 135A alternator and a battery with 550CCA, 70 mins reserve. i couldnt afford the 1000/1.. so do i have enough to push the 12w7 or will i leave much to desire? its in a vented enclosure and will be installed in a 1993 civic coupe. thanks
the 500/1 is an excellent match to the 12W7. the 1000/1 is too large actually, and is better matched to a 13W7.
good match you have. the 500/1 puts out a real power of about 650-700wRMS, so your alternator may struggle with that amplifier. If 135A is your stock rating, you will want to go up to a 200A model.

Thanks for your help, actually my stock alternator was 65A. and from it i was running a 400 W rms lightning audio amp. now that im adding 500W more, i upgraded to a 135A alternator, and a 1F capacitor. i think everything should be ok
