i just got my jbl 600.1 amp in. i hooked it up to my 15 inch hx2. i'm not really impressed. it's in a sealed box with a sloped front. it also has 1 lb of polyfill inside. the box meets rf requirements.
my 2 12'' audiobahn flames powered by an american legacy 600 watt amp in a slot ported box not built to specs was louder than this.
The rf 15 hx2 doesn't seem to hit as low,the sub is moving air but the bass is not loud. it hits the high bass frequencies well though.
Could someone plaese help me get the most out of my setup?
Do you have both voice coils hooked up? Are you running it at two ohms? Do you have all the crossover freqs. set on the amp? If the box meets RF specs, I wouldnt think you would need to put poly fill in it. Try building or using a ported box to compare. My friend has a punch HX2 15 in a ported box built to RF specs and it slams lows real good. He is pushing it with a punch 401s bridged and running at two ohms. I dont know much about the JBL amps, so that is all the info I can give you.
