I read that when you calculate the length of the slot you also have to consider an "effective length" which is added onto the inside. Does this new length get added to the end of the opening to keep clear or can it be subtracted from the already determined length? As in...I need a 23.5" port length if it is H=2" x L=4.75" The effective length = (L1+L2)/1/2H which is 7.75" So do I take 23.5+7.75=31.25 with the 7.75 being open at the end or do I use 23.5-7.75=15.75 with 7.75 open at the end? Does the space created by the 7.75" get added to the box volume or is it considered separate because its used by the port? So it would be a question of adding or leaving out the 7.75x2.75x10.5= 0.1295 cuft There are images of this design on page 2... http://www.cardomain.com/id/gbelous |
