wondering what metrics you use to compare between quality of different head units? i can do research well enough for amplifiers and then translate some of that to head units, but i'd like to know a little more from some guys that really know what they are talking about.
back in the day iirc the only manufacturer using mosfet transistors in their head units, is it still that way today? everyone else was using hexfet then i think... interested to know your opinions on how to evaluate what is better and what is best, let me know!
many things to look at for a head unit to judge quality. reliability/longevity features number of pre-outs and their voltages things like MP3 playback decoding speed security features
good brands are; Eclipse Alpine Clarion Pioneer Premier

i'm only interested in electrical and sound quality, i'm mainly curious if pioneer is still like the only one using mosfets or if most brands use them now
for the internal amp? everybody uses MOSFET now. Alpine has by far the best MOSFET internal amps with their Vdrive models. If you want the best though, go with a non amplified unit and external amplifiers. example; alpine CDA-7995 and JL amps.
