Well, I'm looking at these subs, which would be better at a 180 or less price point?

I like CDT's components, but ID makes some terrific subs.
I'd probably go with the ID subs.

Ok, I wish they had a greater Xmax. Seems HT subs are a better value, the 12 inch Stryke sub displaces 500 CC, sounds great and costs 175 dollars. Meh, 13.5 will be enough for a car.

Adire Shiva 12"
$120 each

use two in parallel on a mono amp rated for about 600-800wRMS x 1 @ 2 ohms.
that'll move some air.

Meh, the box will be too large, it will cost more than even a 15 inch ID sub and I'm not looking to break pavement either. 1 sub will be more than enough. I would be very happy if my system could only hit 120 db but sounded great. If I wanna hurt someone, I'll get a Tumult or a Parthanon motor. :-)

IDQs should easily hit 120 in the right car, even sealed. SQ of them is great as well.

I wasn't being literal about the 120, I will never compete, I will just listen to music. 120 db listening volume is just stupid, I would never listen that loud.

I'm sure you'll be more than happy with them, then. Making subs quieter is never a problem :-) SQ of them is excellent.
