i want to test out how good my bros home stereo.i was going to put my 1000watt sub to it and his is 160watt...could i blow his stereo??

You probably wouldn't damage his stereo. But this is still not a good idea since home stereo's are 8ohm impedance and your sub is most likely 4ohm or less. If you have more than one sub or your sub is dual voice coil, you can reduce the impedance load by the way you wire them.

And the if the amp starts clipping you could still fry your sub.Adios!
