Progressive scan signal from denon DVD4800 to Samgsung HD/DLP TV is not good. Signal is running over "Cobalt" component video cable. Vertical lines about one inch in diameter show up on TV screen in PS mode. In regular mode picture is OK but not great. Does anybody have any ideas why this would be happening?

Check the integrity of your cables.

Do you have a multimeter/tester? Check for continuity and proper resistance across the cables. An easier way is to hook up the DVD player to another tv capable of component video inputs and check if it happens there too after the wire check is done. If it works properly on another TV then it could be your DLP..., if the problem still exists, then it is your DVD player. Has the progressive scna been activated on the DVD player? Most DVD players do not have that feature turned on by default, you have to activate it via set-up menu.

Thanks again Berny! I'll try all the above.
