If you want ANY chance of getting some help, at least try to find the right part of the forum.
I suspect the old Akai is RELAY controlled. First unplug, than let it SIT for a while. If you are comfortable opening it up, see if you can find some relays, one of which may be 'stuck'.
If you can find the right site, you can still download the SERVICE MANUAL which you could take with you to a tech. A tech will charge for diagnosis but probably waive the fee IF you let him fix it, the hard part having been done already.
