Is there a noticable difference in using rca cables for audio as opposed to component cables?

No. for the most part they are the same. If anything the component cables have wider bandwidth. They're all overkill for audio though.

I have a new Denon 2900 dvd/cd/sacd/dvd audio player. For some reason, SACD's to do not sound any better than my regular CD's. I know theoretically they have a broader frequency range but was surprised to hear minimal difference. If anything, they seem to lack treble as compared to regular CD's. The SACD's are output through analog rca cables and the regular CD's are output through digital optical. I'm using excellent analog cable too. It's Monster Ultra THX.
