Here's the undisputable evidence that has convinced me: I'm thinking about buying the SC-AK520 Shelf system from panasonic. It seems to have what I want - albeit the speakers are a bit much. Here is the 'deal'.... I already have these speakers: As you can see, they are for digital surround sound. The way it sounds, it doesn't have to be Dolby. I'm not sure what Dolby is, but it sounds attractive. I went to my local Wally World to check out the SC-AK520 (no, I am not actually buying it there)...and it has two Red/White RCA jacks in the back. However, it doesn't say anything more than that. I think it says "Auxilliary" right above the two (clearly marking them that)...Don't get me wrong, I know what that means buuut....it means Output, right? I must know, and there doesn't seem to be any way to test it. I really need it to be output. Next problem. The whole reason for me having this would be to hook up my Z-640 speakers with my shelf system. Following? Here's the shelf system: http://www.circuitcity.com/detail.jsp?c=1&b=g&u=c&qp=0&bookmark=bookmark_0&oid=8 8586&catoid=-8022&m=0 5.1 Speakers, good speakers, made for PC, Digital SC-AK520, high quality shelf system, with "Digital Tuner" but not Dolby, "Auxilliary" something, output or input. Well... The ultimate question is, of course...Are these compatible? |
