i have 14k plated component cables *red, blue and green colors. I have a 19" RCA television with black audio/video inputs. when i connected the two...and switched to GAME mode on the stereo it did nothing *no aux*.
"Component" cables are for video. For audio you need a set of stereo cables (set of 2 wires with "rca" plugs, usually red and white). But as long as you match the Left and Right outputs on your TV to the Left and Right inputs on the receiver, it shouldn't matter what cables you use (quality aside). Make sure you are plugging the cable into the right input on the receiver (in your case, "game" since that seems to be all you have). You can alos try a different input to test it, like "CD" which you most liekly have as well. And make sure you switch the SOURCE selector to the right input, not the surround sound mode or other options. Hope that helps.
