Ok, 1st post here, looking for some advice/instruction. I have the following pieces..... 1) Monster Cable brand in-wall cable RGB RG-59 with 5 RCA/Coax cables + a CAT5e all-in-one cable. 2) Monster Cable brand RCA RG6Q QuickLock end connectors
My question is how to secure the connectors to the cable? The center conductor slips over the center pin of the connector and won't be secure or establish a quality connection without some sort of crimp? I have a compress-type tool I use for a bunch of other styles of cable ends (Coax, etc) but these are a bit different. The outer body is an axial compressed piece meant to hold it to the outer shield of the wire, but it does not look like it will be secure as the wire diameter is much smaller than the connector. And the center pin is a pretty loose fit. At $6+ per connector, I'm not excited about experimenting too much.
Do I have the wrong connector, and if so, what the heck should I be using? If I have the wrong connector......anyone need some RG6Q connectors for cheap?
