Is there much difference for using 14Ga speaker wire and 16 Ga wire?

william	Posted on Wednesday, August 27, 2003 - 17:42 GMT Depends on what your running. Usuall for home audio video NO it doesn't matter. Infact 16 is probably as low as you need to go.
Rick	Posted on Saturday, September 13, 2003 - 13:30 GMT Well, I had 16g on my 2 fronts and 14 g on my center and surrounds. I want to go to 12g but to test, i put the fronts on the same 14 g as the rest and I noticed a sound increased on those. There is a difference between 16-14 and I assume, tho maybe slight, there will be a difference going from 14g to 12g. Most will be at higher volume tho as I do hear a difference.
