I have an old Pioneer VSA-530 amp and have never had a centre speaker hooked up to it, I have just brought a centre speaker and want to know what speaker wire setup I would need to connect from a L/R single output which looks like an rca female connection to the speaker which has 2 binding posts?
RCA's feed line level signals which are meant to connect component to component. They cannot drive a loudspeaker directly. From what you describe, you will need an amplifier for the center channel and the speaker will connect to it. Does the receiver have Pro Logic surround?
Its Dolby Surround and the output has 30 watts rms running out of it , doesn't need another amp connected to it. Its an AV digital surround amp if thats any help. I have lost the manual for it,so I'm in a spot of bother, gonna strip an rca lead at one end and try it, if it doesnt work then I'm gonna buy another amp and stick this one on ebay.
