I want to splice in 24 guage speaker wires between a rca to mini plug adapter so that the cable is effectively longer. Is it just a matter of connecting the wires or is there something i'm missing here?
Thanks in advance.

I need to splice an additional length of speaker wire onto the rear speakers of my surround sound system. The wire that is already there is 18 gauge. If I splice on wire of a different gauge, say 16 gauge, would this have any appreciable effect upon sound quality?
how, if it is possible do you splice a RCA so you can extend the wire? could you use regular same gauge wiring? I want to extend the rear speakers for my 5.1 speaker system for my computer. Please help, thank you.
