I recently bought a Sony 6.1 Receiver and it did not have HDMI/DVI. Is this bad if I plan on getting a TV with HDMI/DVI input? Is there another way for me to still use this input through my receiver? I was not willing to pay nearly $1000 for a HDMI receiver.
Dave: Connect your HDMI/DVI source directly to your tv. Unless your have multiple HDMI/DVI sources and your tv has only one of these inputs, forget about a receiver with the ability to switch these. Connecting the HDMI/DVI source directly to your tv will be the shortest, least amount of noise signal path which is always best. Forget about DVI also, it is on the way out as the computer and video electronics industry have settled on HDMI as the preffered digital video connection for the future. Good luck.
I was trying to connect my DVD player via HDMI output to my JVC plasma with DVI input. It keeps saying HDCP incompatible. What does that mean? Hope someone can help me out. Thanks.
