Hello everyone! This is my first time on the hd home theater topic. I bought a nice equipment with 6.1 sound. All nice Yamaha equip. It sounds really nice, and looks really good. But, as i am new to this, im having some doubts about cabling.
As i read on other posts over the forum, component cable is far better than composite (wich im using), and better than s-video. Lucky me, all the equipment (tv included) has component input.
The main problem is that when i connect the DVD to the syntoamplifier nothing shows up on the tv, and Directv starts to show black and white (the dtv receiver doesnt have a component output, but i will ask client support to see if they can change the unit to one with it). As far as i see, everything is well conected. DVD component output --> Syntoamplifier DVD Component Input
As i said before, DirecTV is connected throu composite, and the DVD player throu component, the tv is also connected throu component.
Another really big doubt i have is, where on the syntoamplifier should i connect the TV component cable? I mean there should be a Component output, but the only one i see, on the manuals says its for monitor (of course i tried it anyway, but no sucses).
Other question and maybe a big one related to the above topics. Do i need a special cable to connect throu component? Im using some nice RCA cables, like the ones i use for composite, is that ok?
Well i think thats all. If someone can give me a clue or answer to my problem, i'll be thankful.
