I have a SACD player that sends its 5.1 audio signal via 6 rca jacks (1 for each speaker). However, my receiver only has input for 1 jack (either the digital coax or digital optical).
Is there any way to connect the 6 plugs to 1 plug?
No, to hear multichannel SACD, you need a receiver with 6 analog inputs (sometimes labeled "multichannel in"). You can listen to the 2-channel SACD mixes through normal R/L inputs though.
For copy protection purposes, SACD cannot be transmitted digitally (like Dolby Digital and dts), unless you are using a receiver/player combination that uses some kind of a proprietary link.
Thanks for the answer. But I would think that someone would've invented a device that would take the 6 individual analog streams, convert them to digital then combine them into one plug that could be used to play through a coax or optical input jack.
