Ok, I'm new and I'll except the grief I'm guna get for being so unaware when it comes to hooking up my equipment, but I've noticed a good few of you seem to know what you are talking about. Couple that with the desire to be general helpful human beings and you may just be my saviour!!
OK here goes: I have a 30" Sony LCD TV (klv30-hr3) Sony Rec DVD (RDR-GXD300) Denon AVR-1905 (receiver) Sky (sony) digibox and as of yet no speaker set up.... Also These are all UK models/connections etc.
My problem is that I am very into getting the best possible quality picture although unfortunetly I have no idea what I need to achieve it?!
I connect my equipment with Uk scarts at present (profigold).
How do I get the best out of my TV and in particular my DVD playback. I am not frightened of spending (to a certain extent) on cables as long as it is worth it! Obviously my hardware isn't hte greatest, but would be grateful if someone could point me in the direction of how to get it working to the max of its capabilities. S-video, rca???? All news to me. Sorry for being so thick, but any help would be grateful and I promise not to ask such dumb questions in the future!!
So basically, the idiots guide to cables, connections etc. would be brilliant!! Tar in advance!!
