What good is a Cyber Monday speaker sale if it doesn’t include speakers you’d actually want to own? No good at all, we say. Which is why we were thrilled to see that Crutchfield is offering up actual high performance audiophile-approved loudspeakers from British speaker legends Bower and Wilkins as part of their Cyber Monday sale.
Update: 20% off pricing on these 600 Series Anniversary Edition Bowers and Wilkins speakers on Crutchfield is still in effect as of Tuesday, November 29th. 40% off deal on the 703 S2 tower is also still active.

There are tower speakers, center channel speakers and bookshelf speakers galore, but the deal that stands out most is the Bowers & Wilkins 703 S2 tower speaker, which is now available for $1499/each – that’s a discount of $1,000 from the current list price per speaker ($2,000 off for the pair). Check it out (also currently on Amazon):

I had the pleasure of listening to the 700 Series S2 speakers a few years ago at a launch event the the company’s US Headquarters in Massachusetts and I was impressed. The ability for the speaker to disappear, revealing the fine details of the music is something that Bower and Wilkins does better than just about any other speaker on the market today.
As a three-way tower design, the 703 S2 manages this disappearing act while still providing deep extended bass response. The rated frequency response of the 703 S2 is 46-28,000 Hz (±3dB). The 700 series speakers feature advanced tweeter and midrange designs first introduced in the company’s $30,000+ flagship 800 series loudspeakers.
The 703 S2 features B&W’s “continuum cone” – a midrange driver made from stiff woven material that offers exceptional linearity and clarity. This silver cone material replaces the company’s previous use of Kevlar with a proprietary material that is said to have superior stiffness and sonic characteristics to Kevlar. As to whether these new drivers are also bulletproof, well we did not have the opportunity to test that.
The tweeter itself is new to the 700 series S2, forgoing the previous models’ plain aluminum cone for a new carbon-braced aluminum that offers performance very close to the 800 series diamond tweeter at a much lower price point. Trickle down technology indeed.
And speaking of lower price points, if you’re looking for that special Bowers and Wilkins sound at a much more affordable price, Crutchfield also has select models from the company’s 600 Series Anniversary Edition S2 line-up on sale for 20% below list. This includes the excellent 607 S2 bookshelf speaker for $639.99/pair – a savings of $160 from the $799 list price.

The post was removed because Sound United deleted the discount codes. We have subsequently learned the promo codes were supposed to be for employees only, but were inadvertently shared on LinkedIn.
