Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2022 are in the rear mirror, but there are still a few hot deals remaining on high quality speakers as of November 30, 2022, including towers, bookshelf speakers and home theater speaker systems.
KEF Budget Bookshelf
You can still pick up a nice pair of KEF’s Q150 bookshelf speakers for the lowest price we’ve ever seen: $299.99/pair with free shipping. That’s 50% below the normal list price of $599/pair. The Q150 bookshelf speakers have been a critical and budget audiophile favorite since they were introduced in 2017. Pair them with a nice vintage integrated amp or a budget receiver and you’ve got yourself a great starter HiFi kit for not a lot of money.
The Q150 features KEF’s concentric Uni-Q tweeter/woofer combo driver. It’s a 1-inch tweeter paired with a 5.25″ woofer. This design maintains phase alignment among high, mid and low frequencies. The net effect is an extended, even frequency response with excellent imaging capabilities. KEF rates the frequency range at 51 Hz to 28 kHz. The sensitivity is rated at 86 dB, which is fairly typical for a speaker of this size and design. The speakers present a nominal 8-ohm load which makes them very easy to drive, even for a budget receiver or integrated amp.

For a receiver, we’d recommend the Denon AVR-S760H receiver ($499 street price) for a 5.1.2 system (just don’t connect the rear height inputs) or the Pioneer Elite VSX-LX304 ($899 street price) for a budget 5.1.4-channel set-up. The system features Klipsch Tractrix 90° X 90° horn technology and aluminum tweeters for high efficiency, impressive high-end response and excellent dynamics.

ELAC Debut 2.0 F6.2 Tower Loudspeakers
After Andrew Jones left Pioneer, where he made a name for himself by designing excellent-sounding speakers at budget prices, but before he joined MoFi, Andrew started a little company called ELAC. ELAC continued Jones’ tradition of designing amazing sounding loudspeakers that punch well above their price class. And while ELAC’s smaller bookshelf speakers get most of the ink from HiFi publications and audio reviewers, the company also makes affordable tower speakers for those looking for a bit more dynamics and bass extension.
The company’s Debut 2.0 F6.2 Tower speakers are currently on Amazon for just $319.98/each (40% below the current list price). They are listed as back-ordered but you can lock in this low price if you’re willing to wait a bit for them to arrive.
