Gold Member Username: TapemanNew York City in-HD, NY Post Number: 1825 Registered: Oct-06 | I still havn't seen yet one reasonable HD product in the market And may not be one until 2008 According to Pansat specs (very misleading) as always READ CAREFULLY: (from Pansat Direct specs) "• Video output resolution : 480p, 720p, 1080i" "• DVB-S2(8PSK) ready (S2 tuner kit optional)" "• Standard Definition/High Definition contents (MPEG2 and support MPEG4 AVC/H.264) "• High Definition Video Output : HDMI(HDCP) and Component(YPbPr)" Same gemick, still over priced, but best SD receiver The gemick is not by Pansat...it is by the claimed authorized dealers by saying: "8PSK ready." Most users do not know what it realy means. I never seen this receiver as it still needs an extra adapter to handle DN 8PSK MPEG-4 which can be another $200 to $250 on top of its $400 price "8psk ILLUMINATI " If yo ask me how can I describe this product from its specs I'll tell yo the following: This is an SD receiver (progressive scan) that can receive only 720p HD broadcast in MPEG-2 and can be modified to receive MPEG-4 8PSK by installing additional hardware 2 thombs down But to fill your crave for HD...that is totally your call What I like to see someday an HD FTA receiver true 1080i with built in 8PSK module and has DVR or PVR capability around $400 Right now I get it thru optimum for only $5 a month My advice stick to SD FTA and subscribe to HD cable for few weeks until such better product comes out in 2008 If yo don't like my advice...do what yo feel better for your quest |

They say good things come for people that wait, but on the other hand, some will say that wait broke the wagon  I do have a UHF/VHF on the roof on a Rotor most of my Football games come in HD. On Sonicview (both 1000 and 4000), caz they don't have 'universal 2', we had to use 'universal(9750-10600)' to do the scan. All channels are there but the channel names are Echo-001, Echo002 etc..... I have to rename each and every channel. Am I doing something wrong on the blindscan? Is there a way I can add the option 'universal 2 (9750-10750) on my antenna set up of 118? It works fine with the correct channel names on panats and viewsats. Any advise/suggestions/comments would really be appreciated |

Bronze Member Username: KingsatmanNYC, NY Post Number: 93 Registered: Nov-07 | Sit-sat What yo need: one LNB with quad polarity to get 118/119 and at least a 28" dish 118 FSS is so strange It is a circular beam but uses low power linear frequency like the FTA dish Look for Inacom quad polarity LNB on e-bay and yo will be up and runing in few minutes Set the first frequency off Lyngsat and do blind scan it will load all channels off 118/119 I never tried it but I'm sure it will work Kavin also is one of few people who actually got those channels Good luck and feel free to ask after yo get your correct LNB |

Instead of the actual name it says echo-001, echo-002 ...etc.... I wanted to know if i can add 'universal 2' to sonicview because they dont have that option listed. Thanks. |
