New member Username: Elitefan1Post Number: 85 Registered: 12-2003 | The Onkyo's have a nice sound but do not have the power reserves of the Marantz[and others]. Onkyo employs a protection curcuit that cuts power after 2 seconds or so in multichannel mode. This may not be a problem in most situations but since Marantz,Elite, H/K, NAD etc don't seem to have to do this I consider it a flaw in the amp section of the Onkyo. Yamaha also does the same thing in their units. To me a well designed receiver should not have to cut power in this way. |
