Hello board- I'm looking to buy 2 front/main speakers for my Sony 1000ES receiver. At this time I only listen to music on 2 ch stereo, and thats my main consideration for speakers now. (Possible theater set up in future)My budget is ~$550/pair - obviously not going near high end stuff.
I listen to mainly rock/funk/electric jazz music + want warm full low end sound with crisp highs (dont we all!) I may also add a subwoofer.
My thoughts are: JBL E90 Northridge or Polk Monitor 70 or Polk RTi8
I can get excellent deals on Polk through a connection so I'm leaning towards them - I think the RTi8's are discontinued.
Any one have experience with these speakers? Thanks in advance - Mike
I've never liked JBL's, and I know nothing about Polk. What I do like are JMLab Chorus 714S, Quad 21L (too expensive?) and Tannoy Sensys 2. IMO the 714S's are the best floorstanding speakers in their price range.
