New member Username: Mallen324Dearborn, MI USA Post Number: 1 Registered: Sep-04 | I bought a 15" MTX THunder 3000 sub from a garage sale ($25 bucks). However, I dont know which one I neccesarily have. Here are two links: http://www.mtxaudio.com/caraudio/archive/thunderSub3154.cfm http://www.mtxaudio.com/caraudio/archive/thunderSub3158.cfm It only says thunder 3000 on it, so I'm kinda wondering... Also, tell me what you think of the sub. thanks in advance. |

Here is a picture of the back of the magnet. It doesnt say how many ohms. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v430/mallen324/DCP_0657.jpg |

Fishy Unregistered guest | Yeah, just dial the multimeter to the resistance setting and measure across the sub leads(polarity doesn't matter). That'll give you the Re or DC resistance of your sub(not Z). Matching that with the specs should help you find out which sub you have. The Re you measure should be close to 3.29 for the 4ohm or 6.51 for the 8ohm model according to the specs provided by your links. |
