Since I have 4 Ohm fronts and all of the rest of my speakers being 8 Ohms, I thought I should get a power amp to relieve the stress on my receiver. Would a Peavey Power Amp (old beast of one, 350 watts RMS into two 4 Ohm channels)be a wise choice? I asked my dealer and he said that it is not meant for home applications, specifically the damping factor is different.

What do you guys think? I am considering buying one because they are quite cheap!

you could try, it should not hurt anything but i'm
not sure how good it would sound not being meant to play music it probably doesn't have a very flat
frequency response.
