New member Username: Jmd11185Post Number: 4 Registered: 12-2003 | can anyone help me on this? |
New member Username: GlasswolfPost Number: 74 Registered: 12-2003 | you'll be fine as long as the gains are properly set to avoid clipping. I think the L7 is rated for 750WRMS. I wouldn't go over that amount if that is the case. Kicker has very good amplifiers too by the way. Better than RF. |
New member Username: Daniel_sPost Number: 2 Registered: 12-2003 | wut u need to worry about is not the RMS. just don't use the punch bass boost and turn the gain all the way up in order to avoid excess bass vibration with could damage those 4 lil' black wires leading to the actual sub itself(trust me i've done it twice with my L5 sub and i have a rockford fosgate 401s amp). What that knob does is NOT give more power, but it gives only a very distorted bass boost which only causes the sub to vibrate abnormally...so watch out! But if this is for short term then you probably don't have to worry about it because the wire situation only happens after a couply of months of keeping the bass boost on max! |
New member Username: GlasswolfPost Number: 89 Registered: 12-2003 | yeah, as I said, set the gains properly gains are not a volume or power control. they balance the input and output voltage only. here's 3 guides to gain setting: http://pub14.ezboard.com/fcaraudiotalkfrm27.showMessage?topicID=34.topic |

New member Username: Jmd11185Post Number: 6 Registered: 12-2003 | ok i played it all day it was bad ash..good 5 hours total but then about an hour ago the amp cut out...it used to do that from overheating is it possible that its gonna overheat more on this sub then on the 2 tens? |

New member Username: GlasswolfPost Number: 136 Registered: 12-2003 | yup TheZeb has terrific prices on CDT components. Just be careful what you buy there.. they sell a lot of total crap products, like legacy, pyramid, boss, rockwood, and so forth. Come to think of it, CDT is one of the few really good things they do sell. |
