Hi, Im thinking about getting a Onkyo-TX-NR801 receiver and a set of Klipsch RF-35 speakers. I'm having a difficult time finding an existing setup to listen to them.
I love the 801 for its internet capabilities. I was wonderful if anyone had any insights into pairing of these, or suggestions on pairing the 801 with a different set of speakers.
I would think sonically the Onkyo would be a good match with Klipsch. There has been some negative comments about the Onkyo's multichannel power ratings but since the Klipsch are very efficient that might not be a problem. The internet connectivity is an interesting addition and nice they added it to the 800 series. I have always liked the Onkyo sound as it's mellow and some describe it as "dark". The two models I have owned I liked very much. As for speakers if you have a Monitor Audio dealer nearby go hear them before you make a decision. I have a Monitor Silver system and IMO they are much nicer than the Klipsch. Dynamic without the brightness. They would also match well with the 801.
