Silver Member Username: FryguyNova Scotia Canada Post Number: 158 Registered: Jun-04 | Yes you or somone will need to solder a D-lock on the IRD (Intergrated Receiver Decoder) this will stop a ECM (electronic Counter measure) from damaging the firmware (software on a hardware device) on the TSOP (Thin Small Outline Package) Its a ROM (Read Only Memory) chip on the IRD. Also the new D-locks prevent damage to PVR recorded content from a ECM. The D-lock prevents write access to the chip while allowing the IRD to read from it to "Boot-up" BEV can use a ECM to stop you from receiving programing laget or not (The dreaded location ID 000001). You'll need one of the new D-locks for the PVR's they stop ECM's from doing damage to the TSOP and to your Recordings. |
