My truck takes 6.5's in doors and I can't afford the custom under rear seat sub option, so I need 6.5's with the most bass possible. Of course there no showroom that has all the ones I want to audition. Have heard Clif Designs and thought they did real well. Want to spend no more than $200 on front and $100 on rear. Prob go component up front. Can get Clif's for this price. Am I ignoring others with possible better bass or can I get similar bass for less $ (Boston Acoustics maybe?) I plan to treat the doors with Cascade Audio products regardless of what I buy.

JBL-GTO926 are pretty good, should be $120 ballpark
$150 for the 3-way model
But of course, That is what I put in my car, so I dont know much else whats out there.
But I will say, Kicker makes bad 6x9's
And not the good kind of bad either.

Er my apologies, I misread and thought you said 6x9's
Well... You can never go wrong with a speaker made by harman (jbl, infinity, others that escape my mind right now) Great sound

If you want to save a little more money and wait a couple weeks, you could get a Resonant Engineering X.X.X. series component system and forget rear speakers. 12mm X-max on the woofer (more than some subwoofers) should be wicked bass for a 6.5" speaker. The speakers are said to have excellent sound quality and give linear performance. I believe they'll be in the $400 range.

also matt you may not realize this ... or you may know quite well. but you will need an amp to run component speakers at any decent volume and get good bass. 18RMS wont do much. Especially if you get the RE X.X.X comps. I bet those will be up to 75RMS - 150RMS. So that $200 front and $100 rear may be a little different now.
