Question about subwoofer ratings...

By looking at the ratings of a sub, how does one know which sub would be good for sq or spl? What specs really matter when looking for the "perfect" sub for your set up. I am in the market for a new system mainly for sq. If possible, please make some sub recommendations...Thanks

Look into Adire Audio Brahma, Image Dynamics ID Max, Resonant Engineering X.X.X. series, JL Audio W7, Eclipse Titaniums, etc. There are many older posts with similar questions, all are great subs for sound quality.
