I have just bought a second hand Clarion PU2294A © Head unit for my also recently bought Peugeot 306, which thanks to one of the members here who gave me a security code, works a treat. BUT.....The only problem is that as soon as I switch off the ignition, the code is gone, and I have to reset the code to make it work again? Does anyone have any ideas why that would happen?
The head unit, as far as I am aware is the standard fit unit for my car, however when I was fitting the unit I found that the biggest of the 3 connectors did not fit the head unit, and the wiring to the new type plug, although very neatly and professionally finished, did not look standard.
This means I only have the 2 smaller connectors plugged into the unit, and I left the bigger one dangling in the breeze.
Is this the reason my stereo has no memory, due to the bigger connector not being plugged in?
Any help would be much appreciated

There are 2 battery feeds to the radio.

The Main one via the Ignition Switch . This is used to switch the radio ON

The other is a permanently connected battery feed that retains the radio memory features...ie..the code and the radio station settings.

It looks as though it is this permanent battery feed that is missing.
