New member Username: Moses2013Post Number: 1 Registered: Feb-13 | Hello, Please help if you know what would be a good way to set up a two-battery system to be used in my Chinese-made van. I live in Northeast China, where it is so cold in the winter, that the battery will not turn the engine over. I use an electric heat pump (installed externally to the water pump) and powered by an AC source, to run the water until the engine block warms-up and the engine can be started. However, if I am driving somewhere and have to turn the engine off for more than 2 hrs, it is back to being frozen again. This is when I need the extra power to get it started. Is it possible to use both batteries for this, i.e., to get the engine started in extreme conditions? What kind of wiring system should be used for this? If both batteries cannot be used simultaneously, what would be a good way to set them up, so as to run them independently and have the extra voltage always available? Thank you so much for your help. |
