ALFA ROMEO SAFE CODE FOR RADIO

Hello, I have a problem with my radio car in my alfa 156. Suddenly, her ask me a safe code, i didn't disconnect any cable (batterie or other). The problem, I am the third owner and the previous owner did not give me the code card for radio.
Is anybody can help me ?

I don't believe that it is this code because in the user's manual, it is written that the code is composed of 4 digits between 1 to 6.

I tried the code 1988 and it works. Thank you very much. But there are some thing I did not understand, in the user manual it is written that is a 4 digit code from one to six.

Perhaps the radio has been changed and is not the original one fitted in the car when it left the factory

OR

It's the wrong manual for the radio

The radio SERIAL NUMBER is required for a code

First remove the radio from the dashboard.

Then post the radio make+model plus all the letters+numbers on any labels,barcodes or stamped in the metal casing.

This information can then be used to see if a code can be calculated
