Bronze Member Username: Malby7Post Number: 74 Registered: May-04 | I drive a 200 Ford Focus Hatch (ZX3) and I bought JBL C608GTi 6.5" Components for the front doors. I went to the local audio shop to get them installed and he told me they wouldn't fit. I have a set of Infinity 6"x8" speakers in there now. I will include links of the products I'm talking about below but with an adapter plate is there any way I could make these fit without cutting the metal on the door? Silver Member Username: MattlBolingbrook, Illinois USA Post Number: 315 Registered: Jun-04 | According to Mobile Toys, you've got 5x7 openings all around; note that most 6x8s are just 5x7s with an extended mounting lip. You can get 5.25"s in there no problem, but the 6.5s will take some serious work. First, the metal mounting point has to be cut back, which isn't too bad, but then you've got to deal with that odd-shaped plastic baffle (and that will take some glassing, painting, etc.). Sorry, but you'll need to send those back where they came from or make a trip to eBay. -Matt |
