What the best type of wire for the infinity kappa perfect speakers 6.1 and whats the best power cable for the Hifonics Zeus ZX4000 .... I am going to power 200watts RMS ... Any Help ??
16ga is fine for any midrange speakers. It sounds like 8ga would be fine for you, if that's the only amp you're going to use. Otherwise, go with the typical 4ga to the back of the car and 8ga to the amp (using a distribution block).
Don't forget to put a main fuse on the wire near the battery (within 18"). 125A for a 4ga wire or 50A for an 8ga.
i already have an other amplifier connected which has a 4 guage wire.. connected to the subwoofer... If i put another 8guage wire with a 50amp fuse for the Hifonic amp would it be good enough for 200RMS ???
I already have a 150Amp fuse for the subs amplifier.. ... If i use a distribution block would i need a larger fuse ? I have a Boss Pd_4000 which has 120Amps and now i'm going to connect the hifonics which Has 40Amps....
So the best choice is to run another 4 guage wire ... Will a 8 guage wire power a 200 RMS Amplifier ?? I heared that it would work well for about 8 feet am i right ?
Don't worry about the RMS power, go by the fuse on the amp or, better yet, the noted draw in the manual. You can reverse calculate it from the peak, but eh.
Ok 10x matt I've bought the reqiured wire... Now if i position the teetwr in the door will it be better than on the dashboard ?? I was thinking of putting the tweeter on top of the door under the window and the crossover in the middle of the door under the window... The midbass will be in the default factory speaker pistion... What do you think will it be a good pisition for them ?
I don't know what kind of car you have, but if you move the tweeters up that high you'll probably want to use the -4dB setting on the crossover and reverse the polarity on the tweeter for timing purposes.
I like 'em in the dash because the imaging is easier, but you have to fiddle with 'em to get the timing right (so that the tweeter sounds get to your head at the same time as the midbass sounds).
wire everything up, but keep the tweeters on loose wire unmounted. Then use some double-sided tape to try them in various spots around the cabin. Eventually you'll find the spot that makes the music come from the windshield. Mount 'em there.
