New member Username: PelestumonoWaynesboro, Va USA Post Number: 1 Registered: Jul-04 | I have a 99 4Runner. I think I can fit 6.5-6.75 in the front and maybe 5.25 in the back(i have read differing things about that). I have been looking at doing an all Pioneer Premier system, with components in the doors and either 10 or 12 in subs in the back with two PRS-X340s pushing it all. I am open to any suggestions. My budget is in the 700-900 dollar neighborhood, I am gonna stick with the stock head unit for now. Thanks |

Then maybe hold off on the rest, until I have more money. Am I really gonna get anything out of the rear door speakers because of their location and size? |

Utopias are probably overdoing it on your first time out and that budget, since they'll easily run half of that. If you're not in a big rush, check out some of the deals going at Elemental Designs (http://www.edesignaudio.com). They are running a 60% preorder sale on their upcoming goods, which are very good quality for the money. Otherwise, off the cuff: * Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 ($225) * Hifonics Zeus ZX6000 ($200) for the Perfects * Hifonics Zeus ZX4000 ($130) for one SVC sub * Sub of your choice/preference/size that either meets 400W@4ohms or two 200W@2ohm. -Matt |

Silver Member Username: MattlBolingbrook, Illinois USA Post Number: 264 Registered: Jun-04 | It totally depends on how much you want to spend, whether you want quality or pure thump, and whether you have an enclosure in mind. To be perfectly honest, eD's Combo #4 would be perfect for you ($550). You could then spend the rest of your budget on an enclosure and install/wiring and be done with a beautiful setup. -Matt |

Silver Member Username: MattlBolingbrook, Illinois USA Post Number: 265 Registered: Jun-04 | Those 6500s are competition-quality SQ speakers. They use silk dome tweeters, and CDT's competition crossovers (which go for $200 a pair). The midranges are still a bit of a mystery, but having heard their current line, I can say the new ones will be at least on-par with the Perfects (which I own). -Matt |
