I have to make adapter plates from my factory size of 6"x8" to house a component set of a 6.5" midbass driver and a 1" tweeter. Can you buy this from somewhere? If not what kinda material do I use to make this and of what thickness?

Most of the adapters aren't going to have that combination, because a stock 6x8 opening is too small for a 6.5" driver. There are plenty of 5.25+tweeter plates for a 6x8.

You could just make your own out of 1/8" MDF or Baltic Birch, or PVC. MJM sells a pair of "blanks" for $10:
