Volvo vr300 doesnt store radio code

I have the right code and it does work but when i turn off the car and back on again I have to enter the code again. I use the right turning buttom to switch between numbers and pressing it ones moves to the next, holding it will enter the code. Dies someone know what I might be doin wromg here?

The Main one via the Ignition Switch . This is used to switch the radio ON The other is a permanently connected battery feed that retains the radio memory features...ie..the code and the radio station settings. It looks as though it is this permanent battery feed that is missing. Check the fuses and the connectors at the rear of the radio
