Well I'm new here, so I'm not sure if this question has been answered yet, hopefully it's not an annoying newbie question. Haha.
Anyways, I'm getting some new speakers soon for my car, and I'm facing a small dilemma about what I want to buy. I heard pioneers were excellent, and when I looked they were pretty cheap too. I also got a lot of recommendations about Infinity speakers. My only problem is I don't think I'm prepared to spend teh extra cash getting Kappa's, so I'm wondering if the Infinity Reference series is actually better than Pioneer speakers or not? Or is there another alternative brand that's better than Pioneer I just don't know about I should look into instead?
I'm also getting a new deck, and I'm not sure what I want to get yet. I actually heard lots of good about Panasonic and Alpine decks, but Alpine is a tad pricey and it seems you jsut pay for name. So what are some of the better decks available with most features and not too much money (mid-range stuff)?
Pioneer aren't exactly great. They're on the low line, they're decent quality and reliable, but the sound quality isn't there. Infinity Reference is better, but I'd fork out the cash and get either a Kappa or Kappa Perfect component set online. The Kappa components aren't too expensive online, under $150 US in the right places. Get a component set, I don't know if you planned to get 4 coaxials, but a component set up front will sound a lot better and will be money well spent. You will need to invest in an good quality amplifier down the road to get the best performance out of them. Alpine decks aren't just a name, they're more reliable than Panasonic (in most cases) and have excellent features and sound quality. Pioneer and Pioneer Premier makes pretty good, reliable decks and are usually cheaper than Alpine. Eclipse also makes great middle line stuff. I advise you to look around in shops and test them, see what you get a feel for.
