I am wanting to istall 2 mini box speakers on my roll cage. The only problem is, all the mini box speakers i have looked at are low-end speakers with low-end sound. Does anyone know of a good sounding mini box speaker? Or should i just buy a cheap mini box and take out the stock speakers and replace them with high quality speakers? Or possibly, could i use good bookshelf speakers for the home in my car? Your feedback is appreciated, O great Sound gods. Thanks -ChewBacca
What's the vehicle and what are you looking to mount?
There are a LOT of aftermarket solutions out there.

It is a 1988 Toyota 4Runner. I am looking to mount 4" or 3.25" speakers with tweeters on the roll bar. My dad put some horrible sounding pyramid mini box speakers on his roll bar, i just want the same set up only with better speakers.
Yeah, unfortunately, the 4Runner does not have a big 4x4 accessories market. I was figuring on a Jeep or open-air Bronco.
So, you have a few options: 1. Use the cheap ones and change the drivers. Not recommended. Cheap is cheap. 2. Mount 6.5" speakers in the space behind the rollbar near the floor. Yes, speakers fit there. 3. Try one of the many Jeep custom solutions. Soundbars and soundwedges are pretty common. You might even be able to check with a Toyota dealer to see if there's a soundbar for the 4Runner. 4. Have one custom made. Probably a $300 venture, but if it's really what you want, you know it'll be quality and sound good.
this is for your front stage components right? why not just use 6.5" separates in kick pods? Qlogic makes some for that SUV I believe. If not, you or an installer can fabricate some. Another option is to just cut the door panels to mount separates there.
